JOURNEYS TO CENTRE “AHAA” IN ESTONIA AND AQUA PARK “LĪVU”

In the morning of June 7th the children and parents of the Society “Autism Support Centre in Rēzekne” went on a far journey to the Estonian city of Tartu. The long journey did not tire the participants of the excursion because with great pleasure and energy everyone was ready to go explore the largest and the most modern scientific centre in the Baltics “AHAA”.

While engaging in different wonders of science and technology, time went by unnoticed.  With excitement both children and their parents went through a labyrinth of mirrors, engaged in different experiments – succumbed to splashes of water, optical illusions and wonders of technology.  No one was indifferent to the opportunity to sit in modern electric cars or feel like a fire-fighter in a truck with modern equipment.

The current exhibition on human organism was attended and interesting facts on the structure of the body were learnt.  The world of numbers was observed, gaining a little insight into different rules of Mathematics. Wood ants, chickens hatching and different fishes were observed. The bravest visitors rode a bicycle along a rope and pulled themselves to the ceiling and experienced the free fall.

Untired tourists could visit the nearby aquapark AURA or go shopping to the nearest stores. The weather was nice to us, and therefore the satisfaction from the trip was double.

In the morning of June 14th when the weather behind the window did not look like the summer sun or heat, the Society “Autism Support Centre in Rēzekne” organized for their children and their parents a trip to Līvu Akvaparks. Even though in the beginning we were afraid that the sad and rainy day would ruin the mood and the desire to participate in the attractions and water activities of the Aqua Park, all hesitation was vain.

In Jūrmala the June sun indulged the participants of the excursion and everyone gave in to the water joys – visited bath-houses, relaxed in bubble baths, swam in the waves of the swimming pool, succumbed to the streams of water and, most importantly, fearlessly jumped to the lure of the slides. Four hours of water attractions went by unnoticed, and after the active adventures everyone was tired, the big and the little.

We’re saying a huge thank you to all the participants who found the time to go on this trip together and thanks to the Society “Autism Support Centre in Rēzekne” for organizing these trips to AHHAA Centre and to Līvu Akvaparks.  Knowing that not everyone has the opportunity to organize something for themselves, this was a good opportunity to leave the house and be active.

Thanks a lot to the Society “Autism Support Centre in Rēzekne” for organizing the excursion, to Rēzekne City Council for providing transportation, to SIA „CEF Recruitment”  for covering the cost of transportation,  and to all who helped organize these two trips, and to all participants for the positive and friendly mood during this trip together.
